Despite lower corporate tax revenues, United States Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill assured reporters on 29 June that the economy was "doing just fine." In May, however, insiders at American companies sold $34.11 of stock for every dollar that they bought. Corporate executives don't seem to believe the government.
